TEDTALK Nerdy

Melissa Marshall’s TEDTalk “Talk nerdy to me shows an unique and upfront understanding of the reality of science and engineering.  Both as she stated are very important to today’s society including building our new and outstanding buildings as well as learning how to go green and use sustainable energy.  The ideas that they create in my eyes structure society for my lifetime as well as the lives to come.  The concept of communication between scientists as well as society is the key to moving forward as a whole.  Throughout her presentations she communicates well to the audience grasping them into a series of laughs as well as insightful information, which is helpful to everyone.  As much as I agreed with her talk I did disagree about the bullet points because I have learned well with bullets as well as pictures.  Unlike her perspective, which believed a sentence and picture, can persuade and communicate affectively.  Also the equation she states toward the end of the speech is very in depth in the communication aspects of teaching. Science is hard if everyone could figure it out everyone would do it and make the money that some brilliant scientists and engineers do. It is very hard to teach and preach such unbelievable success and analysis into simple words for the normal person to understand.  Communication is the key to learning and bettering our outlook on all aspects of life.  Throughout the video she wants the scientist to show the everyday person how much relevance the subject has to the audience as well as dumbing anything down.  Examples as well as stories are the main source of remembrance compared to the scientific meaning and in depth words that viewers may not understand.   In everyday life we can use communication to better ourselves and others going forward.
